Το Ναύπλιο είναι πόλη της Πελοποννήσου, η πρωτεύουσα της Αργολίδας, έδρα του δήμου Ναυπλιέων και το κυριότερο λιμάνι της ανατολικής Πελοποννήσου.
Σύμφωνα με την ελληνική μυθολογία, στην τοποθεσία της σημερινής πόλης ο Ναύπλιος ίδρυσε τη Ναυπλία. Η πόλη ανακηρύχθηκε από τον Ιωάννη Καποδίστρια η επίσημη πρωτεύουσα της Ελλάδας από το 1828 έως το 1833.
Το ιστορικό κέντρο του Ναυπλίου, η Παλαιά Πόλη, βρίσκεται σε μια μικρή χερσόνησο στον Αργολικό κόλπο. Ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά του είναι η ιστορία που έχει διαποτίσει κάθε γωνιά του, η σαγηνευτική ομορφιά και η αριστοκρατική γοητεία των πλακόστρωτων στενών, οι ολάνθιστες βουκαμβίλιες που καλωσορίζουν τους επισκέπτες, τα καλοδιατηρημένα κομψά νεοκλασικά αρχοντικά και το γεγονός ότι αποτελεί τον απόλυτο ταξιδιωτικό προορισμό.

Το Ναύπλιο έχει τυπικό μεσογειακό κλίμα. Τα καλοκαίρια είναι ζεστά και ξηρά, οι χειμώνες είναι ήπιοι και πολύ υγροί. Οι καλύτερες περίοδοι για να πάτε στο Ναύπλιο είναι η Άνοιξη και αρχές Φθινοπώρου – Απρίλιος, Μάιος και Σεπτέμβριος είναι οι καλύτεροι μήνες.
